Siva came to my home then we headed to Sime Darby Convention Centre at about 745pm.
Reach there then was lookin for the Auditorium. Sweaty leh, hair also messy already. haha. *sovain*
We kinda enjoy the play tho its not the usual ones like air con as in they don't actually have scenes with each other so much, maybe one or two, but its more of individual actress telling live experiences of the role that they were given. Its was pretty entertaining, hilarious and interesting.
i didnt take the picture of the place coz the crowd are pretty mature ones and it would be SOOO awkward if i were to suddenly snap a picture, furthermore with the blinding flash, gawd.. they would think i'm a jakun from.. i dont know, jinjang? haha.
I was suppose to be watching this pla named The Good Body with my sister but i reckon that it will be pretty mah fan coz i would have to join her fren for dinner as well and also overnight at her place. tamau!
So, sister ask me to go with my frens. Anyone interested? i think i might have to drive there by myself with the direction given from sister. She said its very easy. Hmmm... *Ponders*
Oh, by the way.. its at the Sime Darby Convention Centre.(Mt Kiara) Auditorium
Here are the details for the play.
Introduction
In the world of today exposed to terrorism, fear, weapons of mass destruction, the most dangerous thing tackled in this play is a dish of vanilla ice cream considered contraband elsewhere in the world, ice-cream suddenly represent something delightfully unexpected – freedom.
Staged for the first time in Malaysia, the director and producers of The Good Body hope to help the women in Malaysia achieve some freedom from their negative body image by providing an inside look at the outside exploring the cultures of food, beauty & desire through the eyes of women around the world.
This is new theatre at its finest: The Good Body will move, inspire and entertain in the process as it shares stories gathered from many people, but ultimately tells the playwright’s own story. It is a provocative, hilarious and profoundly moving show worth seeing even if only to feel you are not alone.
"This show will resonate for those who aren't perfectly satisfied with how they look in a bathing suit…… which pretty much means MOST of us!"

Synopsis
Whether undergoing Botox or living under burkhas, women of all cultures and backgrounds feel compelled to change the way they look in order to fit in with their particular culture, in order to be accepted, in order to be good. In the Good Body, Ensler explores their experiences with monologues representing women from Bombay to Beverly Hills. Delivering narratives collected in locker rooms, cell blocks, boardrooms, and bedrooms, Ensler frames their stories with her own personal journey from a self-loathing teenager to a (sometimes) self-accepting adult. A young Latina candidly critiques her humiliating "spread", a stubborn layer of fat that she calls "a second pair of thighs". The wife of a plastic surgeon recounts being systematically reconstructed, inch by inch, by her "perfectionist" husband. An aging magazine executive, still haunted by her mother's long-ago criticism, describes her desperate pursuit of youth as she relentlessly does sit-ups.
Through Ensler’s honest, insightful, and sometimes naughty portrayal of genuine experiences and real-life obsessions, she strips the complicated issue of body politics down to its essence, once again destroying pre-conceived notions about what women really think.
Along the way, we are introduced to women who have found a hard-won peace with their bodies: an African mother who celebrates each individual body as signs of nature's diversity; an Indian woman who transcends "treadmill mania" and delights in her plump cheeks and curves; and a veiled Afghani woman who is willing to risk imprisonment for a taste of ice cream. These are just a few of the inspiring stories woven through Ensler's global journey from obsession to enlightenment. Ultimately, these monologues become a personal wake-up call to love the "good bodies" we inhabit.
Ensler freely admits that body-image issues affect men as well as women. “As I've traveled across America I've been really struck (by) the degree to which men are obsessed with their bodies and self-hating, too. It's really moved me very deeply and opened my mind to ways of considering and thinking about men."

Chep and Burn are top students in Sekolah Menengah Sultan Ahmad Tajuddin Mukarram Shah, an elite school in Kedah. Head Boy, Burn, is the school's golden boy and his best friend, Chep, is feared and respected by the younger boys for his quick temper and skill on the hockey field. The school is well respected for its strong academic and sports record. However the discovery of a dead prostitute in the abandoned railway tracks near their school unravels the status quo and we discover a less golden world of bullying, sex crimes and violence. Best friends William and Asif go from innocence to experience as they are forced to deal with the repercussions of the murder. But who is responsible for the murder and will they be held accountable?
Air Con challenges and interrogates the hypocritical habit of turning youth into scapegoats in times of moral panic. Ultimately, it casts a gentle albeit unflinching gaze at the perilous path of male adolescence, and interrogates the heartbreaking ways in which society often expects boys to become men.

i'm going to the play AIR CON this saturday!
So, after this saturday i will no longer be a virgin in attending plays. HAHA!!
Sneak peak of ze ticket. =)
Yours truly got it at student price coz i brought my student id along. so its RM27. This is Hannah's ticket, but she said its alrite, she don't mind paying for a good play.
The process of us buying the ticket was incredibly hillarious and full of adventure. *ok i might have exaggerated a lil there*
Upon reaching KL Sentral, we manage to get a cab that was driven by an old man in his 60s maybe? you know, those really typical chinese man with glasses, thin and tall, with only a little white hair, looking neat in their white button up shirt paired with a dark but faded coloured slacks that goes along with a pair of brown slippers *i think*. something like that, use ur imagination bitches. haha.
We have zilch idea on the whereabout of KLPAC, so when the cab driver ask us where is it, all i can say is "its a building" coz he might thought is a place or wat rite?* fine, i know its a really stupid thing to say... but i dont have a freakin clue on where is the place ok?*
you know what the cab driver response is?
" what puil ting ? this Jln Ipoh, many puil ting ma, aiyooohhh"
*ok, maybe its not THAt funny when u read it here. its a HTBT moment, you see.. *
Sensing his annoyance, i kept quite tho i was on the verge of bursting of from laughter. Luckily, ms Smarty pants here copied down the address in my phone. I then handed it to him coz he decided to ask asistance from a hotel nearby. Later on, i saw him smiling with his teeth showing.. my my, must be a good news aite?
when he opened his side of the door i ask him"so, uncle where is it?" He casually pointed right opposite of the road. What a relieve, its right opposite with the word sentul west staring at us. *and we didn't see*
So, he drove few hundred metres and made a U-turn to go inside.
KLPAC is quite secluded inside, thus we negotiate with him to wait for us and we're willing to pay. Then he said " 5 minit 1 dollar, very cheap la"
Left without choices, we agreed.
I think we took about 5 minutes or so only.
Previously we bought a coupon for RM7 from the counter b4 hoping into his cab.
After settling the ticket purchase and headed back to KL Sentral it cost us another RM10. its still cheaper than the earlier time where we asked a man that wanted to charge us RM25. Happy and contented. =)
Had lunch in a shop in KL Sentral then we headed back home.
Thanks Hannah for accompanying me to KLPAC.
okay i really gotta sleep or else i'll be laughed at for FFK-ing my jogging session.

Thanks to B, i got to know bout this play called Air Con.
Here's a little snippet for those who's clueless.
AIR CON, the latest production directed by Jo Kukathas and Zalfian Fuzi under Instant Cafe Theatre’s Firstworks banner, begins its five-day run on July 2 at Pentas 2, at the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPac)
The cast of Air Con, a play by Instant Cafe Theatre’s Firstworks, which was written by Shanon Ahmad.
“It’s not a mystery murder. It’s a play about boys and sex, so it’s quite funny because there’s a lot of boy-talk,” explained Jo.
The play, with dialogue in English and Bahasa Malaysia with subtitles, is set in 1995 in an elite boarding school in Kedah.
Audiences will experience what boarding school life is like from the point of view of the two seniors – Burn, head prefect and hockey team captain and his best friend, Chep, a skilled hockey player who is admired and feared by the younger boys. Also in the mix are two juniors – William and Asif, who get caught up in the repercussions of the murdered sex worker.
“There’s a railway depot next to the school where the boys go and get sex and this is where the transsexual is found murdered,” said Jo.
Thus the play looks at issues such as sexual awakening and identity, bullying, social prejudice and the school system among other things.
“The play covers a lot of themes and has elements of what happens in an asrama (hostel) but we’re leaving it to the audience to make up their own minds about it,” said Zalfian.
The directors had cast newcomers to fill the majority of the roles and Zalfian admitted that casting proved to be tough because of the characters’ age and the ability to speak both Malay and English.
“It was very difficult to find boys aged 16 years old so we had to audition older actors and make them play younger characters,” said Zalfian.
The play stars Amerul Affendi, Dara Othman, Firdaus Che Yahaya, Hazarul Hasnain, Nick Davis, Ryan Lee Bhaskaran, Zahiril Adzim, Nam Ron, Chew Kin Wah and Ismadi Wakiri.
